2014 is the International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (IYSPP).

The IYSPP Events and Activities Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) and the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA) and with the support of some of their key partners, is organizing an International Conference of Local Authorities in Solidarity with the Palestinian People: Local Authorities at the Heart of the State of Palestine.

This important event is taking place between 21-23 November 2014 in Ramallah, Palestine and will be attended by international political figures, Members of Parliament, Mayors and Local Authorities Representatives. This Conference is organising under the Patronage of his Excellency Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine.

The Conference will introduce and develop 5 themes (i) Challenges faced by the Palestinian local Authorities, (ii) the role of local Authorities in building a Palestinian State, (iii) the issue of Local service delivery, (iv) Local Economic development and (v) the issue of the territorial integration and Solidarity in action.

Official languages (reports, Conferences) will be Arabic and English and translations will be available in French and, if it appears to be necessary, in Spanish and Italian.
